Welches Potential haben ethnografische und historische Sammlungen für Indigene Communities, Museen und das postkoloniale Miteinander? In der Kuratorenführung werden Themen der gemeinsamen Auseinandersetzung mit der Geschichte der Forschungsexpedition nach Australien sowie mit aktuellen Interpretationen des Indigenen Kulturerbes diskutiert.

„Bilder vertonen“

Haben Bilder einen bestimmten Rhythmus und können Farben laut oder leise sein? Nachdem die Teilnehmenden die Geschichten und Bedeutung der Kunstwerke und Felszeichnungen in der Ausstellung „Country bin pull’em. Ein gemeinsamer Blick zurück“ kennengelernt haben, vertonen sie ausgesuchte Werke und erschaffen dabei kurze musikalische Kompositionen.

Eröffnung und Lesung „Show your Teeth!“ 
Gast-Ausstellung im Weltkulturen Labor

Das Weltkulturen Museum präsentiert die Gast-Ausstellung der Comic-Autor:in Katharina Hantke über den weltweit verbreiteten und kulturell vielfältigen Mythos der Vagina Dentata. Der jahrhundertealte Mythos wurde erst durch Kolonialismus und die Interpretation durch einen eurozentristischen Blick umgedeutet und wandelt die Vagina Dentata zu einem penisfressenden Monster. Die Arbeiten in der Ausstellung im Weltkulturen Labor bieten einen Einblick in die Auseinandersetzung der Künstler:in mit dem Mythos.

Zine Workshop

In dem Workshop wird mit der schnellen und einfachen Vervielfältigung des Kopierers experimentiert. Nach einer Einführung zu den Möglichkeiten der Selbstpublikation durch (Maga-)zines bestimmen die Teilnehmenden kollektiv das Thema des Zines und mit Hilfe von Stiften, Collage und Text entsteht binnen kurzer Zeit etwas ganz Eigenes.

„Willkommen im Weltkulturen Museum“

Was ist ein ethnologisches Museum? Wer arbeitet hier? Wie entstehen die Ausstellungen? In dieser Führung lernen die Teilnehmenden das Weltkulturen Museum kennen und gehen gemeinsam durch die aktuelle Ausstellung. Die Vermittlerin berücksichtigt das Sprachniveau der Teilnehmenden.

Museumsuferfest im Weltkulturen Museum

Mit dem Museumsuferfest besteht das letzte Mal die Gelegenheit die Australien-Ausstellung „Country bin pull'em. Ein gemeinsamer Blick zurück" zu besuchen. Das Weltkulturen Museum bietet Kurzführungen in Englisch, Spanisch und Deutsch an und am Sonntag gibt es mit Ausstellungsmacher Matthias Claudius Hofmann eine abschließende Kuratorenführung.

What relevance do millennia-old rock paintings from Australia have today? What potential do ethnographic and historical collections have for Indigenous communities, museums and post-colonial coexistence? The curator's tour will discuss topics relating to the history of the research expedition to Australia and current interpretations of Indigenous cultural heritage.

Do pictures have a certain rhythm and can colors be loud or quiet? After getting to know the stories and meanings of the artworks and rock paintings in the exhibition "Country bin pull'em. A shared look back", we will set selected works to music and create short musical compositions.

Guest exhibition at the Weltkulturen Labor

The Weltkulturen Museum presents the guest exhibition by comic author Katharina Hantke on the globally widespread and culturally diverse myth of the vagina dentata. The centuries-old myth was reinterpreted through colonialism and the interpretation of a Eurocentric view, transforming the vagina dentata into a penis-eating monster. The works in the exhibition at the Weltkulturen Labor offer an insight into the artists' process of coming to terms with the myth.

Zine workshop

In this workshop we will experiment with the quick and easy reproduction of the photocopier. After an introduction to the possibilities of self-publication through (maga)zines, the participants collectively determine the theme of the zine and with the help of pens, collage and text, something completely unique is created within a short time.

Museumsuferfest at the Weltkulturen Museum

The Museumsuferfest is the last opportunity to visit the Australia exhibition "Country bin pull'em. Looking back together". The Weltkulturen Museum offers guided tours in English, Spanish and German and on Sunday there will be a final curator's tour with exhibition organizer Matthias Claudius Hofmann.
