Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, dear friends of Ascolta, we are excited to announce two upcoming concerts, one in Donaueschingen, the other at the Festival NOW! in Essen, in which we will present a total of four large-scale premieres: This Saturday, October 21 at 11 a.m., we are once again guests at the Donaueschinger Musiktage and will present our new project „Echoräume“ - with premieres of two 40-minute works in the Mozartsaal of the Donauhallen. Each of the works is a result of a long term experimental collaboration between a composer and an author: Büchner Prize winner Felicitas Hoppe and German/Dutch composer Iris ter Schiphorst developed their autobiographical and scurrilous "Was wird hier eigentlich gespielt" during countless walks and talks. The performance features the author herself as a lively and trenchant narrator, who at one point finds herself playing ball with the singer-performer Salome Kammer. At the heart of this work is the question of whether music and literature, with their appeal to such opposing sensibilities, can be brought together in a meaningful way. Persian composer Elnaz Seyedi and Leipzig lyricist Anja Kampmann have created a moving and melancholy lyrical epic entitled "Dunst." Superimposed on an almost mythical scene of environmental degredation, they touch on subjects of memory, loss, longing, subjugation and, ultimately, love. SKIN DEEP #1 by Stefan Prins for soprano, ensemble, live electronics and live visuals is a technically opulent exploration of identity in this dawning era of artificial intelligence. Stefan Keller's new work "Trance" is a 30-minute virtuostic tour-de-force with echoes of jazz, pop and minimal music. more info and tickets We are looking forward to seeing you there!
